Saori took some photos with her Yashica Rookie. It's an old TLR (twin lens reflex) medium format camera that takes square photos. When they get processed and scanned hopefully she'll have time to post them.
We also spent the day with our friend Lau. He was shooting black & white film. Maybe we'll post a link to his photos, if he decides to scan them.

I met Bradley in Kyoto a few years ago. He and his boyfriend Nobu were hanging out with my wife-to-be. I think Nobu was going to help her design a website. Now he lives in Vancouver! It's really a small world.

In a recent CBC news article, near the end are two paragraphs about farmers in Africa. This project where "women used cellphones to send information back to their farmer husbands about which crops were fetching the best prices", helped farmers earn more for their crops. I decided to go through my logs to find out how popular certain names are in hacking attempts.

This is what I found will stop the success of all of the attacks so far:
1. Make sure you're using usernames that are not found in a dictionary - any language. And also make sure they are not given names from any language. These are all words used in the dictionaries of the scripts used to attack SSH services.

2. Use the following list for usernames to stay away from. These are names collected from the automated attacks on the SSH (port 23) on a FreeBSD server. They are sorted by popularity first and alphabetical order second.
